Zircon as elongate crystal - 
Gridone near Camedo, Centovalli, Ticino, Switzerland
 
Freely trimmed pink-brown Zircon crystal on Nepheline/Albite matrix, 2.1 cm high, undamaged with small matrix accretions, back clearly stepped. Modified habit type s22 (cf. LAPIS 10/2007). Recovered in August 2019 from Nepheline pegmatite #2 on the northern flank of Gridone mountain, with collection label by Stefan Weiß. All Zircons of this worldwide unique locality are chemically particularly pure and hence show an intense yellow fluorescence in short-wave UV light!
