Zircon on albite/phlogopite matrix with nepheline
 Gridone near Camedo, Centovalli, Ticino, Switzerland
 Large and intact, densely packed, pink zircon crystals (up to approx. 3 cm) on matrix. Highly distorted habit, type sz*14, with a rare {001} face (cf. LAPIS 10/2007, p. 20). A fine cabinet piece, well-presented. Recovered in May 2017 from Nepheline Pegmatite #2 on the northern flank of Gridone, ex Stefan Weiss Collection (H.859-89). All zircons from this globally unique locality are chemically exceptionally pure and therefore exhibit intense yellow fluorescence under short-wave UV light.
