Zirkon in Nepheline/Albite matrix - 
Gridone near Camedo, Centovalli, Ticino, Switzerland
 
Pretty pinkish-brown Zircon crystal (1.5 cm), bounded on all sides, with ingrowth of Phlogopite on the back (well visible in the UV-image). Habit type s17, slightly distorted (cf. LAPIS 10/2007). Recovered in October 2018 from Nepheline pegmatite #2 on the northern flank of Gridone mountain, with collection label by Stefan Weiß. All Zircons of this worldwide unique locality are chemically particularly pure and hence show an intense yellow fluorescence in short-wave UV light!
