Zanazziite, pink quartz on feldspar – Ilha da Taquaral, Minas Gerais, Brazil

 Aesthetic specimen of transparent, double-terminated pink quartz (crystalline rose quartz) and the rare mineral zanazziite on feldspar. Although the pink of the quartz is not very pronounced, it is clearly visible due to the contrast with the green zanazziite crystals.
 Zanazziite is a calcium-magnesium-iron-aluminum-beryllium phosphate that occurs as dark green prismatic single crystals up to 2 mm in diameter or rounded masses. Lavra da Ilha is the type locality for this very rare mineral.
