Willemite with Franklinite and Zincite in Calcite  - Sterling Mine near Ogdensburg, Franklin, New Jersey, USA 
 
Greenish-white willemite grains with lustrous black and up to 14 mm large magnetic franklinite in manganese-containing calcite matrix. As is typical for this globally unique zinc deposit in the Franklin marble, the piece shows spectacular fluorescent colors in long- and short-wave UV light: willemite glows poisonous green, the calcite matrix glows fiery red. After irradiation with short-wave UV light, the manganese-containing willemite shows a characteristic green phosphorescence. Funding opportunities have ceased since the 1970s!
