Wendwilsonite – Aghbar Mine, Bou Azzer, Morocco

One of the most sought-after minerals from Bou Azzer's amazing deposits of rare cobalt minerals is Wendwilsonite.
This particularly intact specimen shows deep red, gem-like wendwilsonite on a cobalt pink matrix. The crystals reach a size of 5 mm, which is remarkably large for this mineral. Since the crystals grow in cavities on the matrix, they are in particularly good condition. The color of the wendwilsonite crystals is intense and can only be described as "it doesn't get any better than this".
