Rehealed Quartz - Grieswies, Rauris, Austria
 
Magnificently clear crystal with a dominant and a smaller tip. The contact surfaces on this immaculately transparent crystal are beautifully recrystallized. The 9 cm high and 6.5 cm wide quartz crystal was found by Josef Kolb at the Grieswies in the Rauriser Valley near Salzburg in Austria and was until recently in his collection.
The Rauris is known for its diverse quartz finds. Almost all deposits are in the core zone of the Hohe Tauern National Park. For some years now, collecting minerals has only been possible here with a special permit. Because of this, minerals from the Rauris are rarely offered.
