Intensely colored, transparent rubellites with good luster from the Cruzeiro Mine. This wonderfully colored specimen consists of numerous tourmalines interlaced with lepidolite.
The Lavra do Cruzeiro tourmaline mine in Minas Gerais, Brazil, has been operating since 1935. It became world-renowned for its production of high-quality rubellite and other tourmalines. Initially specializing in mica, the focus shifted to gemstones in the 1950s. Under the management of Nevestones since 1982, the mine experienced its most productive period. It is considered one of the most important sources of tourmaline worldwide and has yielded many spectacular crystal finds.
