Tourmaline – Grotta d'Oggi, San Piero in Campo, Elba, Italy

Wonderfully free-standing tourmaline, which is large for the site where it was found, with a well-developed end surface on quartz. The tourmaline with a length of almost 2 cm is dark green in the lower part and colorless from the middle upwards (a hint of pink can be seen depending on the incidence of light). Very nice and representative thumbnail of the island of Elba.
