This 1.2 cm x 0.7 cm x 0.5 cm tanzanite crystal shows all the characteristics of this rare zoisite variety. The wide crystal has an impeccable transparency and apart from one stress crack it is of best gemstone quality. The characteristic trichroism, which moves in the play of colors between blue and purple, is very well pronounced in this untreated piece.
