Tanzanite - Arusha, Merelani Mountains, Tanzania
 
 This 1.6 cm x 0.9 cm tanzanite crystal with two terminations shows all the characteristics of this rare Zoisite variety. The crystal has, apart from a few stress cracks a nice transparency. The characteristic trichroism, which moves in the play of colors between blue and purple, is very well pronounced in this untreated piece.
