Rare matrix specimen in excellent quality and particularly intense colour!!
Green hiddenite, 1.7 cm long on matrix with dissolved quartz. The transparent double-ended hiddenite has a great luster and is crystallized all around. 
Matrix pieces like this are an absolute rarity and are extremely hard to find these days. 
Hiddenites from the type locality are colorfast compared to hiddenites from Pakistan or Brazil and retain the emerald green color even under permanent UV irradiation. Unlike pieces from other regions, these gems are untreated. 
The town of Hidden is located approximately 6 km from Stony Point, the area where this mineral 1879 was first discovered. Classic collector's item from a classic locality of rare good quality.
