Spinel – Aldan, Aldan Highlands, Yakutia, Siberia, Russia
 The 2.8 cm spinel sits deep black, shiny, and undamaged on the calcite matrix. The spinel has some partially dissolved areas that exhibit shiny, clearly visible crystal structures. Small remnants of green apatite are found in the matrix.
