Sphalerite, Calcite – Cumberland Mine, Carthage, Smith Co. Tennessee, USA
 Adjacent to the well-known Elmwood Mine lies the Cumberland Mine, where some of the finest sphalerites have been found. This richly decorated cabinet specimen features numerous sharp-edged, highly lustrous sphalerite crystals. The sphalerite crystals, up to 2 cm in size, display a wonderful red color in transmitted light, with some greenish zones along the edges. Gem-like transparent calcites are occasionally visible on this representative collection specimen from Tennessee.
