Spangolite with Brochantite and Fluorite – Mex-Tex Mine, Bingham, New Mexico, USA
 
Dark lblue-green Spangolite crystals to 1 mm, with acicular deep-green Brochantite „sprays“ in vughs of a siliceous vein matrix containing light blue Fluorite and minor Malachite. The rare copper/aluminium-sulphate Spangolite is regarded as a coveted „signature species“ for the Bingham mining district (cf. LAPIS-Steckbrief 7-8/2019). This specimen from a classic dump recovery (1991) shows the characteristic association of Spangolite and Brochantite particularly well!
