Scheelite – Tae Hwa Mine, Neugam-ri, Angseong-myeon, Chungju, Chungcheongbukdo, South Korea
Former Jack Nieburger Collection
Excellently crystallized and particularly large scheelite group with intense luster!!!
Before scheelites were discovered in China and became world-famous, scheelites from the South Korean Taehwa mine held their own. In terms of quality, luster, and crystal growth, they are in no way inferior to the Chinese specimens, but differ significantly in their dark color, which appears brownish to anthracite-like.
Historical find from the early 1980s.
