Chinese Fluorite Bowl - 1975 Idar-Oberstein, Germany
Ex collection Werner Lieber / Christian Weise
At the beginning of the 1970s, beautifully zoned fluorite "nodules" were found in China, up to the size of a loaf of bread, which soon reached Idar-Oberstein to be processed there into works of art. If you cut up the up to 30 cm large fluorite, you can see how new fluorite masses have grown layer by layer. The exact location of the fluorite from China is not known to this day and could not be determined even by deposit experts in Beijing.
Die 16 cm Breite Schale gehört zu den größeren Kunstobjekten, die in den 1970er Jahren in Idar-Oberstein geschliffen wurden._cc781905-5cde-3194- bb3b-136bad5cf58d_
These uniquely crafted objects were also part of the special exhibition at the Munich Mineral Days in 1995.
