Rutile

Needle-like to radiating orange-red Rutile aggregates and sagenitic crystal bundles up to 1 cm long, with traces of Hematite and clear Adularia of Fibbia habit on aplitic granite matrix. A pretty and unusual specimen from the Cava Lombardi, the oldest and most famous Iron Rose site in the Alps (cf. LAPIS 2/2020, pp. 30-35). Recovered in October 2020 from an Adularia pocket within the bed section of the basal vein
