Ruby in Zoisite - Longido, Tanzania

 The cross-section of the hexagonal ruby is sharp-edged and is embedded in the matrix. Complementary to each other and thus forming a beautiful contrast, the intense dark ruby red sets itself apart from the green of the zoisite rock. The reverse shows a ruby almost 2.5 cm long in a longitudinal section.
