 Rubellite from the Mt. Mica quarry in Maine. The color of the crystal is particularly intense for this site. The 3.8 cm long rubellite was in the collection of Dr. Heinz Weninger and since the early 1980s in the gem and mineral collection of Robert Scheck. Tourmalines from Maine on the east coast of the USA are extremely rare and very sought after.
