Pink quartz, childrenite on feldspar – Tarquevale, Minas Gerais, Brazil
Former Robert Scheck Collection
Completely undamaged, highly lustrous, slightly fenestrated pink quartz of the highest quality and beautiful coloration sits atop a feldspar crystal covered with numerous childrenite crystals. The pink quartz has an opaque, slightly smoky core and a transparent, partially intensely pink layer on the surface. The surfaces are slightly fenestrated, displaying interesting structures and a magnificent luster. This already special quartz crystal is based on a snow-white, well-crystallized feldspar, which is also intact. On the reverse, it has detached from the parent rock and is also covered with childrenite. The numerous, lustrous, transparent childrenite crystals are primarily visible on the viewing side.
A high-contrast, aesthetic collection piece of this quality, especially in such undamaged condition and size, is an absolute rarity.
A highlight and an enrichment for every collection.
