Pink Fluorite – Göscheneralp, Uri, Switzerland

This flawless fluorite crystal was recovered from the steep walls of the Göscheneralp using special climbing skills. Found in 2022.
The shiny crystal has the sought-after and rare strawberry red color at the base and a water-clear tip. The fluorite that has crystallized all around has "cuts" at the base that come from already dissolved, fine-leaf calcite crystals.
The surface, which is rough despite its luster, becomes smooth towards the tip. This gives the crystal a second level of vibrancy in addition to its color change. A beautiful and interesting collector's piece when viewed from every angle.
