Pink Fluorite on Calcite – Rhone Glacier, Valais, Switzerland

Alpine classic from the Rhone glacier in the canton of Valais, Switzerland. Two pink octahedral fluorites with edge lengths of up to 12 mm on calcite. The crystals are sharp-edged, have good transparency and contrast well with the matrix. Specimen size 5.5 cm x 4 cm.
The calcite fluoresces strongly pink under longwave UV.
