Rhodochrosite - Uchucchacua Mine, Oyon, Lima, Peru
Rare crystal shape!!!
 
Up to 1.6 cm large, intensely colored rhodochrosite crystals with a surface that has been partially dissolved and an extremely rare crystal shape. Particularly noteworthy are the two largest crystals which are hollow inside and new flawless crystals have formed inside. Like a crown, the outer prisms stand above the smaller crystals inside. Despite the partially dissolved surface, the crystals have a wonderful luster and some highly transparent zones.
