Rhodochrosite Stalactite – Capillitas Mine, Andagala, Catamarca, Argentina

 This specimen from Argentina consists of several fused rhodochrosite stalactites. Since most stalactites from Capillitas are cut into decorative slices, such "natural" specimens from the mine are rarely seen.
 The base is polished, so that the beautiful banding of the rhodochrosite can be clearly seen.
