Fabulous rhodochrosite crystal from the Huayllapon mine in the Pasto Bueno district of Peru. The transparente rhomboedric crystalls apear depending on the light in raspberry red to pink.
The clear crystal form is in nice contrast to the slightly dissolved surface, resulting in an interesting surface structure.
The deposit produced these treasures long ago and pieces like this have always been rare. A special specimen seen from every angle.
