Realgar – Jiepaiyu Mine (Shimen Mine), Shimen As-(Au) Deposit, Changda Prefecture, Hunan, China
Excellent, colorful specimen with double-terminated blood-red realgar crystals on matrix. The intact, intensely colored, and highly lustrous crystals reach a remarkable size of almost 3 cm!
This rare, high-quality collection specimen exhibits excellent luster and very good translucency. This spectacular find from the 1990s is undoubtedly one of the most beautiful matrix specimens to have survived to this day. It is one of the few survivors of this unique find! This is proof that the realgar specimens, which were protected from sunlight and heat, have retained their unique translucency and red glow.
Back in the 1990s, when this magnificent realgar was discovered, these specimens were already being traded at high prices. These unique crystals are now virtually unavailable! This makes them a rarity from the last millennium.
