Smoky quartz - Val Giuv, Grisons, Switzerland
 
Double terminated quartz of famous swiss quality with good luster on adularia with chlorite.
 The Val Giuv, near Sedrun in the Surselva in the canton of Grisons, has always been a synonym for the special color and quality of Swiss smoky quartz, which distinguishes them from other quartz.
 Under most difficult conditions, the crystals are recovered from the so called "Strahlers" at an altitude of approx. 3.000 meters.
 The smoky quartz often appear together with adularia, creating a wonderful contrast between the opaque white of the adularia and the brownish transparency of the smoky quartz.
