Quartz Var. Japanese Twin – Washington Camp, Santa Cruz Co., Arizona, USA
Ex Rock H. Currier collection, acquired in 1980
Rock H. Currier bought this wonderful quartz specimen with two Japanese twins in 1980 directly from the finder Stan Esbenshade for his private collection. A particularly high-quality and transparent collector's piece from Arizona!
The twin crystals are sharp-edged and reach a size of an impressive 5.2 cm. The highly aesthetic specimen consists of several intergrown flat quartz crystals which have separated from the matrix in the crack over the course of millions of years.
Japanese twins from Arizona are now rarely found on the market! They are an American rarity, especially in such good quality and aesthetics.
The now deceased, passionate mineral collector, LAPIS author and mineral dealer Rock H. Currier was a true American collecting legend. During his life he traveled to almost every accessible location. We were lucky enough to acquire a few selected pieces from his private collection for you.
