Proustite – Schlema - Hartenstein, Ore Mountains, Saxony, Germany

 A richly studded proustite specimen. Cavities are found all around, containing rare, ruby-red, highly lustrous proustite crystals. The crystals contrast strikingly with the dark matrix and display their transparency and intense color even in daylight, without additional backlighting. German proustite is rarely available these days.
 (Due to their sensitivity to light, many historical steps have lost their color).
