Proustite – Shaft 371 (855 m), Schlema - Hartenstein, Ore Mountains, Saxony, Germany
A richly decorated proustite specimen. This aesthetic miniature specimen is covered all around with rare, ruby-red, highly lustrous proustite crystals. The crystals, up to 7 mm in size, contrast strikingly with the matrix and display their transparency and intense color even in daylight, without additional backlighting. German proustite of this quality and with this particularly well-preserved, intense color is rarely offered these days.
(Due to their sensitivity to light, many historical steps have lost their color).
Wonderful collector's item of this rare German classic!
