Phantom Quartz – Val Canaria, Ticino, Switzerland

Undamaged quartz of this size (19.5 cm) are a rarity in themselves, and if they also have a perfectly recrystallized base and show a dark green phantom, the picture-book crystal is perfect.
Despite a lightly dusted layer of chlorite, the crystal is shiny. The tip has a green phantom just below the surface. Inside the almost 20 cm long crystal there is a dark green crystal about 16.5 cm in size.
The surface of this unique collector's piece is partly slightly windowed and the lower third on one side is covered with wonderfully distorted quartz crystals. These crystals are partly highly shiny, partly with reddish and green inclusions.
 A thoroughly alpine gem of exceptional size!
