 Quartz var. Morion is the name given to the particularly dark smoky quartz. These wonderful crystals from the Swiss Alps, appearing almost black, display a beautiful reddish-brown color in transmitted light. The flawless purity of this alpine classic is also evident in transmitted light.
 The high-gloss crystals contrast beautifully with the white granite matrix.
 Quartz in all its forms from the Galenstock is known for its distinctive color and quality, which distinguishes it from other quartz. Under the most challenging conditions, the crystals are extracted by hand by so-called prospectors at an altitude of approximately 3,000 meters.
