Monazite-(Ce) as sharp-edged yellow tablets (up to 1.5 mm) on a matrix of Rueras granite gneiss. Characteristic green Rare-Earth luminescence in unfiltered short-wave UV-light! Collected around 1870-1880. Historical specimen from the exchange fund of the Freiberg School of Mines in Saxony, the original label written by Rudolph Wappler (FSM-custodian from 1851-1888).
