Malachite – Kasompi Mine (Menda Mine; Kasompi Hill), Kolwezi mining distr., Lualaba, DR Congo
 
Magnificent malachite stalactite (19.5 cm long!)  from the Kasompi mine in DR Congo. In this deposit, stalactites form from globular malachite. The color of this piece is special, as the malachite appears from light green to almost black-looking dark green. 
A wonderfully aesthetic, sculptural specimen from Africa.
