Corundum pseudomorph  after spinel  – Mahenge, Morogroro, Tanzania
 
 In a very interesting new find from September 2021, corundum pseudomorphic to spinel was discovered in Tanzania and presented at the Tucson Gem Show 2022. This 3/4" crystal shows  despite the transformation still the raspberry color of the spinel.
 A mineralogical rarity with good aesthetics.
