garnet var. Andradit  – Avasalos, Serifos, Greece
  
 Very nice specimen with garnet crystals (var. andradite) from the Cyclades island of Serifos. The garnet crystals show a rare zonal coloration at the edges. The dark edges are characteristic of this find and are translucent in transmitted light compared to the orange-brown areas. Wonderfully aesthetic and rare piece from Greece.
