Clinozoisite (manganiferous) with Nepheline

Pink-red Clinozoisite, as a granular intercalation (1.3 cm) in white Nepheline/Albite matrix. The colour is due to Mn(III)-content (cf. extraLapis No.55, 2019, S. 94). This pegmatitic mineral association of manganese-bearing Clinozoisite and Nepheline is not only a Swiss rarity, but also unique worldwide! Recovered in May 2017 from nepheline pegmatite #3 in Val Boschetto, on the northern flank of Gridone. EDX/XRD analyzed sample
