Hematite/Iron Rose – Fibbia, Gotthard, Ticino, Switzerland

 Historic iron rose from Fibbia. The find dates back to 1947. At that time, sandblasting wasn't yet widespread, and most finds were made by shepherds who encountered the minerals more or less by chance while passing by the surface. Since it is almost certainly a surface find, this hematite specimen has an extremely good luster!
