Hematite on smoky quartz – Cavradi Gorge, Tujetsch, Sedrun, Graubünden, Switzerland
 
 Hematite on quartz, an absolute alpine classic from the Cavradi Gorge in Tujetsch. The tabular, highly lustrous hematites are interspersed with red rutile and sit at near-perfect angles on slightly smoky quartz. The malformation on the hematite is due to a growth disorder, probably due to contact with the matrix in the fissure. 
 Very aesthetic piece of the best quality at a very good price.
