Greenkop Beryl (Polychrome Beryl), Schörl, Fluorite – Erongo, Namibia
A wonderful paragenesis of rare green beryl with tourmaline var. schorl and fluorescent fluorite.
In 2007, three large geodes containing unique beryls were discovered in the Erongo Massif of Namibia. The finds exhibited the typical Namibian paragenesis of schorl, fluorite, and beryl. The polychrome beryls are mostly translucent and colorless-white, while the upper sixth, the "cap," is green to blue-green and of good transparency. Because of this color distribution within the crystal, they are called "Greenkop."
A rare and highly aesthetic collector's item from Namibia.
