Greenkop Beryl (Polychrome Beryl), Schörl, Fluorite – Erongo, Namibia
In 2007, three large geodes containing unique beryls were discovered in Namibia's Erongo Massif. The finds exhibited the typical Namibian paragenesis of schorl, fluorite, and beryl. The polychrome beryls are mostly translucent, colorless white; the upper sixth, the "cap," is green to blue-green and of good transparency. Because of this color distribution within the crystal, they are called "greenkop."
A rare and highly aesthetic collector's piece from Namibia.
