The gold from Mt. Kare in Papua New Guinea is unmistakable. The gold rush that lasted there from 1988 to 1994 was a modern-day phenomenon. Not all gold found there was crystallized and most of the gold was melted down. The rare pieces that have not been melted down are highly prized by collectors.
