Glaucokerinite – Serpieri Mine, Laurion, Attica, Greece

Type locality!

Glaucokerinite, also known as copper zinc alumina sulfate, was first discovered in the Serpieri Mine and is a sulfate-class mineral. Glaucokerinite develops only microscopic crystals and is usually found in the form of sky-blue to blue-green banded, grape-like crusts with a drifting, radially fibrous to tabular structure and a waxy luster on the surfaces. This collection piece features exceptionally large crystals. Even in museums, such impressive specimens are rarely seen.

Rare collector's item with excellent color and an extremely rare size.
