 A richly decorated gold specimen from Australia. The wonderfully intensely colored and lustrous gold contrasts strongly with the quartz matrix, both visually and tactilely. What's special about this display specimen is that the gold wasn't etched from the parent rock, but rather grew naturally in a cavity. It's known as vault gold.
