Fluorite – Rosiclare Mine, Hardin Co., Illinois, USA
Ex collection University of Arizona, Tucson!
Ex Don & Dawn Boushelle Collection
Excellent fluorite specimen with highly lustrous, complexly colored crystals up to 5 cm in edge length. The finely differentiated color zoning with alternating bands of bright yellow, blue, and violet is characteristic of the best fluorite specimens from Hardin County and is reminiscent of a rainbow. A few chalcopyrites on some crystal faces provide a beautiful contrast to the intensely colored corners and edges of the cubic crystals.
This special fluorite specimen comes from the collection of the University of Arizona in Tucson!
A beautiful classic from a well-known locality that is unfortunately no longer in operation and therefore cannot produce new specimens of this unique quality.
