Fluorite – “Red Pocket” Ojuela Mine, Mapimi, Durango, Mexico
Flawless, undamaged fluorites with skeletal-appearing surfaces. This special specimen comes from the so-called "Red Poket", a unique find around 2007/2008. Since the discovery only produced a few specimens, they were sold quickly on site and at high prices.
The perfectly transparent fluorites are mostly water-clear and have violet zoning. Due to the unclouded transparency, the violet shines through the entire crystal and, depending on the viewing angle, allows the fluorite to shine in a very beautiful shade of lilac.
The high-gloss surface structures of the fluorites are particularly noteworthy. Skeletonization creates striped, flattened edges and triangular shapes in the surfaces.
Under artificial UV light, the fluorites fluoresce in an intense red-pink. The fluorescence is particularly visible under long waves, but is also visible under short waves.
Aesthetic and unique collector's item from Mexico.
