Fluorite, Calcite – Minerva No. 1 Mine, Illinois, USA

 This characteristic specimen from Illinois, USA, consists of intensely colored, transparent, highly lustrous fluorite crystals with edges up to 5.5 cm long. The crystals are mostly in very good condition. Surfaces that are not sharply defined exhibit the typical recrystallized, stepped surface structure.
 The blue zones contrast beautifully with the yellow core of the crystals. Calcite crystals further adorn this colorful, highly sought-after display specimen from the famous Minerva #1 mine.
