Fluorite (honey spar) – Heißen Stein mine, Wölsendorf, Germany
Former Fritz Haller Collection, acquired in 1970
A historic, exquisitely formed collection specimen of fluorite with barite and iron ore. The intensely violet fluorites exhibit a beautiful play of colors in transmitted light. The edges are noticeably darker than the rest of the crystals, creating a beautiful graphic structure. The upper surfaces are covered with finely tabular barite crystals, which are covered with reddish iron ore. This paragenesis creates an aesthetic contrast in color and form.
It is rare to find intact hand-carved pieces with such an intense color.
Very nice cabinet level of this classic from Wölsendorf, Germany.
