Thread quartz with byssolite – Glacier du Miage, Monte Bianco, Italy

 Water-clear, flawless, high-gloss thread quartz with the green byssolite inclusions typical of Miage.
 Since mineral collecting is prohibited on the Italian side of Mont Blanc, specimens from this region are extremely rare. Rock crystals with byssolite inclusions are characteristic of this site.
 The discovery site is located in extremely difficult-to-access and extremely alpine terrain at an altitude of approximately 3,600 meters.
